Privacy Policy

This website, theflowerintelligence.com, is run by Anna Unger, founder of Flower Intelligence and Desigfy, based in the United States. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Anna Unger and Flower Intelligence. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website (in European law, the “controller”).

You can reach us about anything in this policy at anna@desigfy.com.

• We collect as little as we can, and only what you choose to give us.
• We set no cookies, use no analytics and show no ads.
• We never sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
• When you join the list, your details are stored with Netlify Forms, and a copy stays in your browser.
• When you take the Flower Map, your answers, your name and your email are stored with Netlify, so your map can be created and kept.
• Nothing is loaded from YouTube unless you follow our link there.

We don’t collect sensitive information, such as health, financial or government ID details, and we ask you not to send it to us.

• Joining the list: your first name, your email, what describes you (shaping your own home, an interior designer or architect, or a furniture brand or vendor) and the time you agreed to hear from us. We use them to send you early access and launch news about Flower Intelligence, and to send you what concerns you.
• Taking the Flower Map: your name, your email, the boxes you ticked and when, every answer you give, including anything you write in your own words, the time spent on each situation, your result, and whether you asked to be emailed your full report. We use them to create and keep your Flower Map and, if you asked, to send you your report. If you tick the optional box, your answers without your name may also be used to improve the Flower Map.
• Technical data: when your browser loads a page, our hosting provider briefly records technical data such as your IP address, your browser type and the page requested. It is used only to deliver the site and keep it secure.

This site has no user accounts. When you join the list, the site checks what you typed and sends it to Netlify Forms, a service of our hosting provider, where it is stored for us. Netlify checks every submission for spam with a service called Akismet. We may also receive a copy by email.

When you finish the Flower Map, your answers are checked and scored again on our server and stored in Netlify Blobs, another service of our hosting provider. A short summary (a reference number, the time, your name, your email, your Primary and Secondary Flower, and your report choice) goes to Netlify Forms.

Please do not write about your health or other sensitive matters in the Flower Map’s open questions.

The Shadow is optional. If you complete it, your answers and its result are stored with the rest of your Flower Map. The result is shown only to you, on your results page, and we leave your Shadow answers and result out of the exports we work from.

While you take the Flower Map, your answers stay in your browser’s storage so you can continue after a refresh, including your name and email once you have typed them. They are removed when your map has been saved. On a shared computer, finish the Flower Map or clear this site’s data when you stop.

When you join the list, a copy of your first name, your email, what describes you, where you signed up and the time you agreed also stays in your browser’s storage, so your sign-up is not lost if sending it fails. The site does not send this copy anywhere. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

We use no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking pixels, and we don’t follow you across other websites. Because we don’t track you, a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal from your browser has nothing to switch off here, and we respect both.

If we add visitor statistics later, we will use a tool that works without cookies and without personal data, and we will name it here before we start.

This site only links to the film and to our YouTube channel. Nothing is loaded from YouTube unless you follow one of those links. On youtube.com, YouTube (Google) may collect data such as your IP address and how you watch, under its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

We don’t sell, rent or trade personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information when the law requires it.

• Netlify, Inc., which hosts this website in the United States, stores list sign-ups and Flower Map summaries through Netlify Forms, and stores Flower Map answers through Netlify Blobs.
• Akismet, which Netlify uses to check form submissions for spam.
• Our email provider and yours, when we receive a copy of a sign-up by email or when you write to us.
• YouTube (Google LLC), only if you follow our link to YouTube.

• List sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
• Flower Maps: until you ask us to delete them.
• Technical server data: only for a short time, as set by our hosting provider.
• What is in your browser: until you clear it.

We only write to you if you tick the box, and it is never ticked for you. Every email will let you unsubscribe with one click and will include our postal address, as US law requires. When we start sending letters through a mailing service, we will name it here first.

Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, including your Flower Map, ask for a copy of your Flower Map, and unsubscribe from our emails at any time. Write to anna@desigfy.com. We will answer within 30 days, we may first need to confirm that the request comes from you, and we will never treat you differently for asking.

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to have it corrected or deleted, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, as those words are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we don’t use sensitive personal information.

We collect these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email address, IP address), professional details you chose to give us (what describes you), your Flower Map answers and result, and internet activity (pages requested, in our host’s server records). We collect them from you and from your browser, for the purposes described above.

Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, you may ask whether we shared personal information with others for their own direct marketing. We do not.

Residents of other states with privacy laws, such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and Oregon, have similar rights. You can use any of them by writing to anna@desigfy.com.

We use your details because you agreed to it (joining the list or taking the Flower Map, which you can withdraw at any time), and because of our legitimate interest in running a secure website (technical server data).

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, to receive it in a portable format, to withdraw your consent, and to complain to the data protection authority in your country.

We are based in the United States, and our providers process data there. When data leaves the EU, the UK or Switzerland, it is protected by the safeguards these providers use, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. Your Flower Map is calculated automatically, but it is a reflection for you and leads to no decision about you.

This website is meant for adults, and the Flower Map is only for people aged 18 or older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them, or from anyone under 16 in the European Union. If you think a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.

The site is served only over a secure connection (HTTPS) with strict security settings. No way of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we take care to protect what you send us.

This site links to other websites, such as YouTube and whatflowerareyou.com. Their own privacy policies apply there.

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is important, such as a new way of using your information, we will say so clearly on this site, and by email if you are on the list, before it takes effect.
